When it comes to ballistic protection, you have to go for the best protective option possible. Many of the level IV body armors up for sale today come in different forms, and they are extremely effective in protecting the body from gun, rifles, and explosive threats. A .30-06 AP (armor-penetrating) bullet can be stopped by level IV body armor. Every smaller round, including Armor Penetrating 308, as well as all handguns (including Five-Seven, 500 Magnum, and 50 AE) and shotgun rounds, can be stopped by Level IV body armor (including slugs and SABOT rounds). Some rounds will go through, though, after they have been hit a few times and the porcelain front has been cracked.
It is possible that the steel plate can still block common rifle rounds like 5.56x45mm or.223 Remington even after the ceramic has been entirely broken in half or shattered. But it is not recommended for long-term use after being struck. If you’re going to wear level IV body armor, you’ll want to make sure your plate carrier is top-notch. Most of the level IV body armor plates for sale are large and cumbersome, causing the carrier to sway while you walk. Damage to low-quality plate carriers could lead to operational difficulties in the field in these instances.
Adding pouches and extra ammunition to the front of the carrier can cause the carrier to become unstable unless you wear a level 4 plate in the back of the carrier as well. A level III plate in the back should be at least one size larger than the front, so the weight is well distributed, and you have greater coverage in the back. When you find a thicker level IV body armor for sale, know that it will require adjustments to the stock of your rifle and the sling. So, check that everything is in order before you head out into the woods.
